Overview: The Maintenance Technician is to assist the Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining the physical integrity of the property. POSITION SUMMARY: The Heavy Equipment Technician performs repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment, compact heavy equipment, light service equipment, and light trucks. Typical repairs include, but are not limited to, preventative maintenance inspections, hydraulic, fuel, exhaust, brakes, suspension, electrical, HVAC, and emission systems.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Maintains advanced knowledge to diagnose and repair mechanical problems on heavy equipment.Performs repair or preventative maintenance on electrical, diesel and gasoline vehicles, including compactor, excavator, wheel loader, and other vehicles to maximize safe and productive operations. Assist make-ready staff as required to meet deadlines.Report all major repairs and need requisitions to Maintenance Supervisor prior to any expenditure of funds.Change locks, rekey locks and make keys.Remove and transfer heavy appliances and equipment from storage area to apartment (or vice versa) as circumstances warrant. Assist in moving abandoned furniture, appliances, etc. to dumpster when necessary.Any other requests made by the Maintenance Supervisor, Property Manager, Service Director, Regional Manager, or other company official as needed.
